Hello and welcome to my Glorious last Post for Photography 4! Hurray! So Anyway what I did was High Dynamic Range Photography & a Photoshop Technique called Light Leaking.

So First I will Explain HDR Photography, It is a method of taking several exposures of the identical scene, thus creating a Dynamic Range of Exposures that you can combine in Photoshop.

What you get is a photo that is exposed for areas that the camera can not see all at once, such as the Sky and the foreground Subject.
Also the Technique of Light Leaking is something I did in my Pictures to create a kind of Vintage look, I overlayed a distressed texture to even add to that.

This Picture is also my favorite out of all that I Produced.

Here is another example:

Then The Final Image with Light Leaking-

I got the Inspiration for doing HDR Portraits, particularly the one of the girl with the trees behind her, from here: http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/07/20-amazing-examples-of-hdr-portraits/

And I was inspired by and learned the Technique of Light Leaking from here: http://abduzeedo.com/photoshop-quick-tips-light-leaks-photography-video

I got Additional Textures from here: http://mediamilitia.com/category/freebies/

So here is the Rest of my HDR Light Leak Pictures!—-

I would like to thank my Lovely Girlfriend Krystal Krcma For posing in these pictures and being cooperative. :)

Here are my Contact Sheets:

Played with the Ring light today and it was fun and gave quite a different lighting effect from what I have used before. I plan to maybe photoshop these photos further and ad some cool graphics or something.

My Friend Megan Peets used to attend CHS but not anymore. But we are still friends and she moved to Nevada, but before she went she asked me to take some quick photos of her that were nicer than just your average cellphone picture.

I know some of them are out of focus and the lighting isn’t ideal. But this was just in my home studio which isn’t the best. And we were on a little bit of a crunch time.

Went out to the sports fields and took a picture of a bunch of activities that they have going on out there. :) I Like the tennis ball one that has a blue strip at the top because of the focus and the two other tennis ball ones are cool too.

MoreGreenscreen fun. :) I wish I could have been in Skills USA. So I had some anger built up for not getting in, and they sound like Nazi’s about alot of stuff so Blaine Kinda had this idea, but i brought it to fruition.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN I”M A NAZI! This was an inside Joke for the kids in my photoclass.

And this Lovely Piece is my attempt at drawing/creating some kind of graphic completely with my pen tablet, with no outside elements involved. So I drew a cherry. :) I want to draw more fruit like this.

I haven’t posted a lot I know, but Im at a loss with this class because its not as structured as my last photo class.
I tend to post more spastically because there isn’t like a strict deadline. I would of liked the posting to be every two weeks, instead of every week. I remember we took a vote on that and everyone picked the latter option because they didn’t want to work as hard.

I just wish I had some more of a direction, a goal maybe? Idk, I’m kinda jealous of the Skills USA people and their goal for the poster and the prompt line they have to work with.
I think Im gonna try making Ad’s for random products. It could be a cool project for the class? We could all pick a product (draw one out of a hat you make maybe?) And then make a photoshop Ad using a photo we take and like a logo for the product and ect.. ect.. This is Photo 4 I’m sure everyone should know how to create Something graphically interesting in Photoshop.

Like how I did this Typography in Photoshop?! :) I think its cool. I plan to do more Quotes in Typography.

Blaine and I decided to actually do something during class so we set up the GreenScreen and did some shots. Sadly they weren’t the most crisp images. But they are there none the less. So i learned how to switch the backdrop and arrange the lights in the studio. I also learned a bit of modeling photography because I had to tell him how to stand and what-not.

So then I took them into Photoshop and had to learn how to Chroma Key within the program. I know how to do it in Adobe After Effects by heart. But not so much in Photoshop. I learned you have to click Selection>Color Range. Then You select the color you want extracted and then adjust the “Fuzziness” Then I cleaned up all the edges and started constructing the background out of textures and then created a dim lighted environment by creating a new layer, Making it soft light blended and filling it with 50% neutral gray. Thus creating a small area burn and dodge layer that i could paint on with a black brush using my pen tablet. Then I went on to create the Graphic brush strokes coming from the subject and then I did text and VIOLA!
As for the one with both of us in it: The cracks in the floor are a brush and the background are just wave elements i had in stock.
